Wildlife Photo Tour to Greece 5d/4n, for Dalmatian Pelicans - 2027

Photograph Dalmatian Pelicans Closer Than Anywhere on Earth

There are places in the world where wildlife photography becomes something more than just… photography.

Dalmatian Pelican at Lake Kerkini is one of those places.

This is not about chasing birds. This is about being accepted into their world.

Why Kerkini? Why This Tour?

Kerkini is widely considered the best place on Earth to photograph Dalmatian Pelicans and once you’re there, it’s obvious why.

Here, pelicans don’t just fly past you. They come close. Very close.

Gliding through morning mist. Landing in golden light. Interacting naturally, right in front of your lens.

But here’s the difference:

We don’t just take you there. We guide you into understanding what you’re seeing and how to capture it with intention.

What Makes This Experience Special

We’ve built this tour based on real experience, not theory.

Top Local Collaboration

We work with the most experienced local operator in Kerkini, the one who start this activity and have the deepest knowledge about this activity.

Photography-Optimized Boats

Stable, low-profile boats designed specifically for photographers. No awkward angles. No fighting for space. Just clean shooting opportunities.

Adaptive Shooting Locations

From water… or from shore, when conditions allow. We follow light, behavior, and water levels, not a fixed script.

Guiding at a Different Level

This isn’t just about spotting birds.

We help you:

  • anticipate behavior
  • read the light
  • choose the right settings for each moment
  • compose cleaner, stronger images

Tour Structure – Built for Light

This is a 5 days / 4 nights experience with a strong focus on shooting time. 3 days of photo tours, with 6 sessions

  • Morning sessions (soft light, mist, calm water)
  • Evening sessions (golden light, dramatic action)

Between sessions? Rest, review, adjust and get ready for the next round.

What You’ll Photograph

  • Pelicans flying at eye level
  • Close-up portraits with incredible detail
  • Feeding interactions and social behavior
  • Take-offs and landings in perfect light
  • Reflections, mist, and layered compositions

And the best part?

Breakfast at the accommodation.

Departure at your own pace or via optional transfer.

A Note About Reality (And Why It Matters)

Wildlife is unpredictable and that’s exactly why this works.

We don’t promise identical sessions.

We promise the best possible positioning, every single time.

Photo gear and personal gear

  • Camera, lenses for boat sessions, from 10 to 50 mm for wide shots and 70-200 for close-up or flight shots. Tele lenses for the rest of the birds and shore sessions, memory cards and batteries. Waterproof bags for sensitive gear.
  • Proper clothes to the season/area. Please bring clothes in colors close to rocks (brown, sand, khaki, dark green), avoid ANY other colors.
  • Please pack compact! We do not provide carrier services and the space in the car is generous but not infinite.

Conservation Efforts

The Dalmatian Pelicans at Lake Kerkini face unique challenges, especially in winter. Due to the fish staying in deep water, pelicans struggle to catch food on their own. Conservationists and local communities provide supplemental feeding during this time to ensure their survival.

By participating in this tour, you contribute to awareness and support for these incredible birds and their ecosystem.

Destination

Kerkini Lake, North Greece.
35m altitude, artificial lake.

Climate

Winter temperature vary from -5 to +15 Celsius degrees.

On water

Boat activity, please make sure all your gear is proper protected.

Warnings
