Step into the heart of the Carpathian Mountains and witness one of nature’s most powerful spectacles, the red stag rut. From mid-September to mid-October, the forests echo with the deep, primal roars of stags challenging rivals and calling for hinds.

Daily Schedule
- Dawn Session – The guide will pick you up before sunrise, reaching prime observation points under the cover of darkness. The peak roaring activity happens just before dawn, offering an unforgettable audio-visual experience.
- Afternoon Session – As the sun sets, the stags become active again, silhouetted against the golden sky in breathtaking landscapes.

The price is:
1 pers = 750 euro
2 pers = 1000 euro
The price is per tour and it is in euro (EUR).

Bookings
Bookings are based on a 30% deposit of the price of the program.
The rest of the payment have to be done 30 days before the tour start. If the tour is booked less then 30 days before departure, the full price will be paid.
Included in this price:
- GUIDE (EN / HU / RO) – specialized assistance (during the tour);
- 3 days of tour;
- Transportation during the tour (4X4 car).
The price does not include:
- Accommodation and food;
- Drinks;
- Insurance of any kind (travel, goods, etc.);
- Flights fare;
- Personal expenses.
Children policy:
- Minimum age to participate is 12
- Children over 12 years are charged as adults
- Responsibility of children’s supervision during trip belong to parent.
Cancellation policy:
- More then 90 days before the program you can postpone the trip (you will receive a voucher available 2 years).
- Less then 90 days before the trip, the deposit is non refundable.
Itinerary:
Daily Schedule
Your adventure begins before sunrise, as your guide picks you up from Odorheiu Secuiesc. To ensure a smooth experience, you must be accommodated in this city.
Most of the tour will be conducted by car, but some segments will require light to moderate trekking. Your guide will tailor the route to match your fitness level.
- Morning Session (4-5 hours): We head into the wilderness under the cover of darkness to reach the best observation points just in time for peak red stag activity.
- Midday Break: Return to the village to rest and review your images. The guide will inform you of the pick-up time for the evening session.
- Evening Session (3-4 hours): A new location, a different backdrop, and another opportunity to witness and photograph roaring stags as the sun sets over the Carpathians.
- Return to Accommodation: After an intense wildlife photography session, you’ll be dropped off at your lodging to recharge for the next day.
Your Guide
Our guide is not only an expert in wildlife photography but also a trained biologist with a degree in Wild Animal Behavior and Bear Ecology. Having grown up in the mountain forests, he has spent his life studying nature and tracking wildlife. His deep understanding of animal movements and habitats ensures that you will be in the right place at the right time for the best shots.
Being also a professional photographer, he knows exactly how to position you for optimal lighting and stunning compositions. Beyond photography, he is actively involved in environmental conservation and works closely with local communities to protect the region’s rich biodiversity.

Warnings
Morning can be chill, please bring proper clothes and footwear.

To ensure a comfortable and successful nature experience, we recommend bringing the following items:
- Camera Gear: DSLR or mirrorless camera with telephoto and wide-angle lenses, extra batteries, memory cards, and a sturdy tripod.
- Clothing: Layered clothing suitable for early morning and late evening chills, waterproof jacket, hat, and gloves for cooler temperatures.
- Footwear: Waterproof hiking boots for trekking.
- Accessories: Binoculars for spotting distant wildlife, insect repellent, sunscreen and a refillable water bottle.
- Other Essentials: A small backpack for daily excursions and any personal medication you may need.
