Join a small, focused photography group and explore one of Europe’s best regions for Brown Bear and forest bird photography. This 4-day shared tour is built for photographers who want access to professional hides, quality light, and a smooth logistical setup, without crowds and noise.

1. Professional Brown Bear Hide
Photograph Brown Bears at eye level from a dedicated photo hide built for clean backgrounds, natural light, and top composition opportunities.
Besides bears, you may also get visits from Red Deer, Roe Deer, Red Fox, Wild Boar, Jay, Magpie, Stock Dove, Wood Pigeons, Green & Black Woodpeckers, and more.
Tip: Bring two bodies — a long lens for distant bears and birds, and a 70–200mm for when the big guys come close.
2. Morning Bird Hide
Start each day with beautiful morning light and constant activity around a forest drinking pool.
Regular visitors include Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Great Tit, Willow Tit, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Common Redstart etc.
Location
Deep in the forests of Transylvania, where wildlife acts naturally and photography hides blend into the landscape.
No hiking required, this is a fully hide-based wildlife photo experience.

Included in the price

Children policy:
- Minimum age to participate is 12
- Children over 12 years are charged as adults
- Responsibility of children’s supervision during trips belong to parents.
Cancellation Policy:
- More then 90 days before the program you can postpone the trip (you will receive a voucher available 2 years).
- Less then 90 days before the trip, the deposit is non refundable.
Itinerary
Day 1: Pick you up from Bucharest (11:00 Bucharest Airport) or Brasov (14:00. Transfer to Transylvania area. Settle into your accommodations and meet your guide for a briefing on the days ahead.
Days 2-3: Morning bird photography from a professional hide, followed by an afternoon – evening session in the bear hide. Until sunset time, you’ll have a lot of opportunities for good photos with bear and other wildlife.
Day 4: After breakfast, transfer to Bucharest or Brasov. Please let us know if you have a flight booked for this day.
Extension to another program:
If you choose this program as an extension of any of our programs to the Danube Delta, the transfer to or from Tulcea, will be included.
Personal Equipment
- Clothes suitable for this activity, for every season apart
- Color of the clothes is also very important. Please bring your clothes in colors more natural, as close to the colors of nature surrounding. Camouflage pattern on brown are best.
- Also, to the hides, noisy clothes (kind of waterproof jackets) are to avoid, use fleece instead.
As photo equipment should bring
- Camera
- Long lenses (+400mm) for birds; wide lenses for landscapes and medium range (ex 70-200) for Bears hide.
- Tripod(s)
Conservation Focus
This experience is rooted in conservation. The hide was built with a specific goal: to reduce conflict between humans and bears. By feeding bears in this controlled environment, they are deterred from descending into villages, ensuring the safety of both locals and wildlife.
